The luxurious 2021 GMC Terrain compact SUV delivers on style and performance. Whether you're driving to an upscale ski resort or into the city for a special night on the town, the handsomely styled 2021 GMC Terrain will turn heads.

Trim Levels

Find the perfect 2021 GMC Terrain from the four trims: the SL, SLE, SLT, and the premium Denali. The sophisticated Terrain features GMC's signature C-shaped high-intensity discharge headlights and taillights, as well as an oval front grille bearing the GMC logo. The aerodynamic lines from the hood to the rear of the compact SUV gives the Terrain a contemporary appearance. The programmable power liftgate, standard on the SLT and Denali, makes accessing the back of the Terrain a breeze.

Under the hood of the three lower trims, the GMC Terrain has a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an output of 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. The top-tier Denali trim has a powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Both engines pair with a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission.

Across the lineup, front-wheel drive comes standard with the option to upgrade to all-wheel drive. An adaptive damper system on the upper trims helps the GMC Terrain turn corners smoothly and absorbs road bumps to create a smooth and quiet ride. When driving conditions and weather change, use the standard traction select terrain management system to help you navigate wet roads and uneven terrain.

If you want to tow a small boat or trailer, when properly equipped and with the 1.5-liter engine, the Terrain can tow up to 1,500 pounds. With the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, the towing capacity increases to 3,500 pounds.

Plush and elegant, the cabin of the 2021 Terrain has well-appointed features. You can fit five people in the two rows of seats, which have height-adjustments for both the driver and the passenger. Cloth seats come standard and you can opt for premium leather upholstery on select trims. A 60/40-split folding rear seat and folding passenger seat provide flexible storage solutions. Depending on the seating configuration, the Terrain has a maximum of 63.3 cubic feet of cargo space.

The lower GMC Terrain trim levels come with a 7-inch touch screen and the uppers have an 8-inch variation. Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot come standard across the lineup. A voice-controlled navigation system comes standard on the Denali and is available for the SLE and SLT trims. When you add the available Driver Convenience Package, the Terrain comes with heated front seats; a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel; dual-zone climate control; and remote start. To get navigation and a seven-speaker premium Bose audio system, choose the Denali trim.
